Discover our range of Undercounter Larder Fridges
If you want to save space in your kitchen by having a fridge that fits neatly under your kitchen counter, you may want to consider a freestanding under-counter larder fridge. Freestanding means it won’t be concealed by cabinetry. Many people choose a larder fridge because it doesn’t have a freezer compartment, so you’ll gain a little extra refrigeration space internally.
Due to their size, under-counter larder fridges are a perfect choice for small kitchens in homes and flats. They often feature adjustable shelves, LED lighting, and reversible doors for flexibility. They are also very easy to install—simply plug them in.
Which brand?
At Euronics, we have a wide range of under-counter larder fridges available. Choose from our great everyday brands like Zenith or Fridgemaster, or perhaps something with more features like Blomberg or Liebherr. In our opinion, Sensis is always a great choice.
Features
When choosing an under-counter larder fridge, there are some key features to consider. Firstly, always ensure the fridge fits your available space and meets your storage needs. As you most likely already have your kitchen countertop installed, you must ensure it fits correctly.
Most, but not all, under-counter larder fridges have an auto defrost function. Buying a fridge with it can help prevent the build-up of ice, reducing the need for manual defrosting.
Choosing LED lighting is energy-efficient and yet still provides good illumination inside. Noise levels (measured in dB) are a feature worth checking. This will be important if your fridge is in a high-traffic area or you spend much time in its vicinity.
The majority of under-counter larder fridges are white, and many brands offer 1–3-year guarantees.
Ensure the right fit
As the name suggests, the under-counter larder fridge needs to fit under your countertop. Double-check your measurements at home to ensure the correct fit. Height choices usually range between 80cm and 85cm plus, with varying widths and depths. Litre capacity can vary but expect between 90 and 100 litres.
Installation
Your local Euronics expert is always on hand to help with installation and repair. Still, in general, your under-counter larder fridge will simply be unpackaged, time allowed for the compressor gas to settle, and then plugged in. Some models come with a reversible door that lets you change the door's opening direction to suit your kitchen layout.
